We are working directly with the VP of Finance of one of the largest CPG corporations in the world. They are looking for a dynamic Trade Finance Controller to support Sales and Finance leadership with timely analytics on trade spending across customers, channels, and type of program through a comprehensive, end to end trade promotion management process. Responsible for all elements of the monthly close as it relates to overall US trade investment, including processing and analysis of the conditional and unconditional spend, reconciliation and aging of all trade related balance sheet accounts.
Oversee monthly trade forecast modeling and reconciliations. Support and challenge (when necessary) customer assumptions in analyzing trade investment.
Leads the planning and development of trade expenses by sales channel, by key customer, and by product category.
Perform trade investment analysis by customer and brand, isolating current activities, YTD trends, potential risks and opportunities to published expectations.
Manages customer-specific processes related to trade spending and monitoring promotion management processes.
Serves as key contact for internal/ external auditors on customer audits and supports key stakeholders.
Monitors and assists in resolving trade fund issues including receiving trade spend details and maintaining resources for self-service & trouble shooting.
Responsible for trade journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial summaries as part of the monthly close process.
Support the annual customer target setting and attainment process.
Responsible for managing, developing and training Trade Finance team.
Maintain positive and proactive interaction with Sales and Customer/Category Finance Management to ensure ongoing exchange of quality financial information.
BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA a plus
6 - 8 years Trade/Sales Finance (Consumer Products or Foodservice Company a plus) OR audit or consulting experience in Big 4 or other top firms
This is a blended role but looking for candidate that has heavy accounting background.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (excellent Excel Skills, a plus); as well as Siebel and/or Cognos TM1 experience a plus
