Our client, a growing company in Chicago’s Loop area is in need of a Statutory Reporting Consultant. This is an immediate consulting need, and the project will last at least 1 year. The ideal candidate will have management experience as the role will be responsible for overseeing a team.  Our client is becoming an industry leader with annual revenue exceeding 150MIL+. The Statutory Reporting Consultant will report to the CFO. To qualify you must have at least 7 years of relevant experience and be able to start immediately.  

Statutory Reporting Consultant Responsibilities 

  • Lead the Company's statutory reporting process for over 15 legal entities
  • Oversee the monthly general ledger activities for GAAP to STAT entries 
  • Ensure execution of appropriate internal controls
  • Work with operating company accounting/finance staff to resolve and troubleshoot issues
  • Resolve issues during the statutory reporting process
  • Assist in the Company's evaluation of technical accounting matters
  • Serving as a key resource for special projects, lead as well as provide meaningful contributions
  • Support technical accounting research as necessary
  • Develop, maintain, and test documentation and processes around financial reporting controls
  • Act as the project liaison for all internal projects which impact the Accounting department
  • Perform ad hoc projects as requested

Qualifications

  • Experience with Statutory Reporting
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Public company experience preferred 
  • Experience with 10K/10Q filing
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Software experience with Oracle or ERP system
  • Financial, professional services, or Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to balance speed and accuracy in a fast-paced work environment
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present financial information Management in a succinct and understandable method
  • Discretion and judgment required in dealing with changing and new situations
  • Ability to be well organized, team-player and motivated
