Accounting Principals is seeking a Staff Accountant for a Banking/Financial Services client of ours in the Parsippany, NJ area.  The Staff Accountant will be responsible for cash application for the Americas and bank reconciliations and may assist with multi-currency wire/ACH payments, and recording cash when needed in these entities.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Responsible for downloading daily bank statements and lockbox checks for the Americas from the online platform
  • Downloading and saving credit card statements from Paymentech and American Express
  • Posting all cash from the daily bank statements for the Americas (customer payments and journal entries)
  • Work with the Revenue team for customer cash posting and remittances
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reconciliation of the Americas bank accounts
  • Assist with initiating, approving and releasing wires and ACH payments
  • Activate vendors and review bank forms
  • Initiate wires or ACH payments in JPMorgan for Concur employees
  • Assist with bank compliance documents as needed and recommend improvements to current processes where applicable
  • Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of cash application and accounting experience
  • Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Multi-currency experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Global Banking platform (we use JPMorgan)
  • 1-3 Years professional experience in the banking industry
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Good communications skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
