Staff Accountant

Accounting Principals is working with a client in Suffolk County to fill a Staff Accountant position with a minimum of at least 1 plus years experience. This is a temp to hire opportunity for a large established company.

The role entails preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet and income statement analyses, preparation and processing of monthly journal entries and review of trial balance fluctuations.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process daily inventory adjustments requested by the operations department
  • Responsible for maintaining the commission programs for internal and external sales, as well reviewing the monthly commission accrual calculations and processing necessary adjustments.
  • Reconcile final commission payments and prepare monthly commission recaps to support payments.
  • Reconcile cost of employee benefit invoices to the related coverage
  • Preparation of monthly journals entries, account analyses for payroll liability GL accounts and inventory GL accounts
  • Maintain Access databases used in month end close process

 

· Education and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance and related work experience Minimum of 1 + years of accounting experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational/time management and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills
