Accounting Principals is actively searching for a Senior Accountant to join our healthcare client on the far west side of Indianapolis. The Senior Staff Accountant works directly with the Accounting team to assist in all aspects of the finance and accounting processes. This person must be a degreed accountant with at least 3-5 years of general ledger reconciliation and analysis experience. This position is temporarily remote and is a contract to hire opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with monthly close process, including preparation and recording of general ledger entries.
  • Preparation of month end reconciliations.
  • Proactive account analysis to identify trends, issues, and errors.
  • Help prepare for various audits throughout the year.
  • Inventory and Fixed Asset management.
  • Review expense accounts throughout the month and during close.
  • Assist with establishing and monitoring an appropriate and effective system of internal controls. Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.
  • Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an Accountant or Auditor
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Results oriented approach to work.
  • Very detail-oriented, highly motivated, and analytical.
