Accounting Principals is looking to fill a Staff Accountant job opportunity for this East Bay company located in Emeryville, CA. The right candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or General Ledger Accountant position. The candidate will report to the Controller and will assist with the annual close processes (month, quarter, year), GL, AP, AR, Analysis, and other projects as assigned. 


Responsibilities include:

- Assist with the month-end close, preparing various account reconciliations, journal entries, payable and receivables

- Assist with the month-end financial statement variance analysis

- Accounts Payable – process invoices weekly, coding, manage purchase orders and vendor relations

- Account Receivable – assist with billing and collections

- Payroll – Manage the compliance of time sheets, payroll reporting, and payroll taxes

- Assist on ahoc projects assigned


Qualifications for the job include:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required

- Industry experience with non-profit preferred

- Solid knowledge of accounting, reconciliations, journal entries and overall knowing your debits and credits 

- Software experience with Netsuite would be preferred

- Attention to detail, organized, and analytical

- Strong communications (written & verbal) 

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)


Experience: 4 years of experience in General Accounting (General Ledger Accountant, Staff Accountant)

Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000
