This position will be responsible for all tax compliance for indirect taxation as well business registrations and licensing for federal, provincial, state and local jurisdictions throughout the United States and Canada. Tax responsibilities include sales & use tax, HST/GST, and property tax.
Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance, and responsiveness to internal and external information requests.
Interact and develop relationships with business unit personnel to facilitate tax compliance and reporting and analyze the tax impact of business decisions.
Gather data in support of indirect tax audits by tax authorities as well as dissolutions and withdrawals of entities.
Compute all tax audit contingency reporting for financial statements in accordance with ASC 450/FAS 5
Manage timely communication and implementation of tax law changes to include taxability and changes in tax rates with proper notification to internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with external tax consultants to facilitate tax compliance and planning objectives.
Degree in Accounting required with 3-7 years of experience in transaction tax. CPA preferred and a
Masters of Tax degree a plus. Experience in the construction industry preferred; specifically tax and project accounting. Must be a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills. Strong computer and IT skills a must. Some travel required.
