Accounting Principals is working with one of our clients looking to fill a Senior Staff Accountant job for the corporate office located in Martinez, CA. You should have at least 7 years of experience as a senior accounting professional. The position will be responsible for grant accounting. The responsibilities include working in the GL and having exposure working in different chart of accounts. The job will include billing, reconciliations, journal entries, audit, working with program managers dealing with the budget and the forecasting aspects of the grant, as well as assisting on projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance

- Solid accounting experience and a complete knowledge of GAAP

- Strong overall accounting knowledge understanding debits and credits

- Grant accounting experience would be a plus

- Experience reviewing contracts and managing contract deadline

- Government accounting experience is preferred not required

- Excellent customer service and communication skills both written and verbal

- Reliable, multi-task oriented, deadline driven

- Attention to detail, thorough, and organized

- Software experience with a variety of ERP software package not just Quickbooks

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)

- Comfortable working both in-office and remote

 

Experience: 7 to 10 plus years senior accounting experience (Senior Accountant, Grant Accountant, Staff Accountant)

Compensation: $35.00 – $40.00

Employment Type: Temporary (6 months)
