Accounting Principals is looking to fill a Senior Accountant job opportunity for this East Bay company located in Oakland, CA. This position is 100% remote through 2021 and in 2022 the role will change to a hybrid model working in-office 2 days a week. The right candidate should have at least 5 years of experience as senior level accounting professional and have strong excel skills with experience in Power Query. The candidate will report to the Director of Accounting and be responsible for interacting with department leaders in coordinating expense accruals, asset accounting, and researching and correcting any discrepancies.   


Responsibilities include:

- Responsible for the month-end close, support financial statement preparation including account reconciliation and expense analysis

- Maintain the Fixed Asset system

- Assist in preparation of the annual capital and operating budget

- Prepare annual audit schedules

- Budget occupancy expense for all locations

- Assist on duties and projects as assigned



- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or related field required

- Strong foundation in accounting (GAAP) and analysis

- Software experience Sage Intacct a plus

- Advanced Excel skills (Comfortable with Power Query)

- Able to work independently, take initiative, and be self-motivated

- Attention to detail, problem-solver, analytical, and strong time management skills

- Excellent communications (written & verbal)  

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel - Advanced, Word & Outlook)


Experience: 5 years of senior level accounting experience

Compensation: $45.00  – $55.00 Depending on Experience

Employment Type: Temporary (5 to 6 months)
