Are you a Senior Accountant with a strength in SEC Reporting? This is the perfect opportunity for you. We are assisting our client, a large technical corporation with a search for a Senior Accountant who will be responsibility for SEC Reporting.
 
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the process of preparing the Company’s quarterly filings on Form 10-Q and the annual filing on Form 10-K. The Senior Accountant – SEC Reporting will also assist in research and documentation of new accounting pronouncements, GAAP and SEC requirements and transaction specific applications. This position will also review various financial information and complete ad-hoc financial projects. The incumbent will routinely interact with executives, managers and operating personnel to successfully complete job expectations.
 
Position Responsibilities
 

  • Prepare footnotes and other disclosure requirements for inclusion in the Company’s quarterly filings on Form 10-Q and the annual filing on Form 10-K
  • Assist with the research and documentation of new accounting pronouncements, GAAP and SEC requirements and transaction specific applications
  • Participate in ad-hoc finance projects
  • Assist in the preparation of Form 8-K filings as needed
  • Provide assistance in the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly reviews of the Company’s external auditors; provide responses to auditor inquiries
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and work closely with operational and financial management
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Participate in special projects and other analysis as required
 
The Requirements
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required
  • 3-5 years’ experience with SEC/Financial Reporting via public accounting (Big 4 background preferred but not required) or a combination of public/private industry accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, and experience with researching accounting pronouncements and issues
  • Assess technical accounting implications for business transactions and prepare written accounting and financial reporting position documents as needed for review by management and external auditors
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task as necessary
  • Ability to work independently as needed; identify issues and provide recommendations for improvements as necessary
