We have partnered with a Dallas TX O&G company to find a revenue and accounting specialist for a contract to hire opportunity paying in the mid $50k range. The role is in office for training and then fully remote. This position will support the revenue accounting team. This position provides an opportunity for a junior professional to join a growth-oriented midstream business as a member of the accounting team. 

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist with the month-end close process, including calculating, preparing, and posting journal entries in accordance with US GAAP;
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations including accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledgers;
  • Prepare monthly revenue/cost allocations, coordinate gathering systems and processing plant settlement data and process settlement in the accounting systems on a monthly basis;
  • Review all producer and owner disbursements on a monthly basis to ensure completeness and accuracy; 
  • Collaborate and work closely with key contacts in other departments (e.g., Commercial, Operations, Finance) to resolve reconciling differences and unrecorded transactions;
  • Review and report on monthly revenue and costs for each project, providing variance analysis vs. budget, forecast and prior year;
  • Identify opportunities for improved departmental efficiencies in revenue and cost recognition processes, and work with management to implement positive change;
  • Assist with the implementation, execution, and maintenance of goals and KPIs within the department;
  • Prepare and assist with additional ad hoc reporting as requested.

    The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA a plus;
  • 1 to 3 years’ relevant experience;
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels within a corporate structure;
  • High degree of attention to detail;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills;
  • Experience with enterprise-level accounting systems, databases, and reporting tools; Experience with Quorum TIPs a plus;
  • Able to execute and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Power Point;
  •
