Are you looking for your next accounting opportunity in southeast Wisconsin? We are currently working with a well established company in West Allis to help find a Payroll/AP Specialist! This role has plenty of different responsibilities to offer, and is looking for flexible accounting professionals to help assist with the department's workload.
 
Payroll/AP Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with HR regarding all payroll documentation, and maintain the payroll processing portal – (New hires, terminations, benefit enrollments/changes, 401K, etc.)
  • Prepare and process payroll on bi-weekly basis
  • Collect, review, and process 1099/educator invoices and hourly employee timesheets
  • Calculate and generate invoices for monthly contractor commissions
  • Process and issue annual W-2 and 1099 forms to employees and contractors
  • Answer questions from employees related to payroll and commissions topics
 
Your Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in accounting processing A/P and payroll
  • Understanding of payroll withholdings and payroll tax requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with management, direct co-workers, as well as other departments
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Foundational understanding of US GAAP
  • Be able to prioritize in order to complete all tasks in a timely manner and handle several issues simultaneously
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
