Payroll Specialist

A large company in the healthcare industry is partnering with Accounting Principals to identify a temporary Payroll Specialist for their team. This will be a long-term commitment to help the team with payroll processing tasks while the department makes some changes. You will need to have a background with large volume payrolls and be able to process for hundreds of employees. Professional communication skills are important since you will be responding to employee inquiries and be partnering with the HR team to process benefits. Also, you will get a chance to start working in a remote capacity but the team is planning on returning to the office in three to four months, so you will need to be located close to Renton, WA so you can go into the office when that time comes. The team is looking for someone who has at least three years of previous payroll experience and someone who can handle high volume environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Processing bi-weekly payroll and payroll taxes for over seven hundred employees
  • Auditing time cards and fixing errors when needed
  • Reconciling benefits and employee accounts
  • Coordinating with the HR team and responding to employee inquiries
  • Assisting with payroll-related journal entries
  • Qualifications:

  • At least three years of payroll processing experience
  • Previous experience in larger companies
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to work discretely with confidential information
  • Able to function with extreme accuracy in a high-volume environment
