Accounting Principals is currently seeking a temporary Payroll Specialist with 1 or more years of experience working in full cycle payroll within a dynamic sales-focused organization. As this is a sales-focused company, your role will surround not only standard payroll practices (i.e. bi-weekly payments, etc.) but will also be handling retroactive payroll dealing with commissions. If you have a solid understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and ADP systems regarding payroll this may be a role that fits for you.


  • Focus of compliance surrounding payroll processing laws at the federal and state levels
  • Processing of overtime in regard to commission structures
  • Posting of payroll activities like running GL reports and downloads of payroll reports
  • Processing of payroll semi-monthly and bi-weekly using third party software
  • Process 401k deposit transactions and commuter benefits
  • Providing assistance for payroll related quarterly and annual reports
  • Taking charge of processing compensations, manual checks, and deductions
  • Education and Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting. Experience in similar roles can be considered as a substitution
  • Has experience working with separation agreements and expense reports
  • Familiar with processes surrounding payroll, either in a role as a payroll specialist or a similar position
  • Has worked with third party systems to process payroll (i.e. ADP)
  • Working knowledge of SOX Act or FLSA
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Comprehension of intermediate level math
  • Stellar attention to organization and details
