Payroll Specialist

Accounting Principals is working with a large company in the south Seattle area to identify a payroll professional for their team. This person will be handling payroll for over 800 employees and will be updating employee information. This team is processing on a system that is proprietary so you must have a strong understanding of the whole payroll process. You will be auditing time cards and will be troubleshooting employee inquiries. Professional communication and a high level of customer service skills will be crucial for the success of this individual. You will work with a few others in the department but since the company is growing, you will need to be flexible to new changes or increased responsibilities. You will work in a convenient location with free parking and an office with a casual dress code. This will be a contract to hire position and when you do convert to a permanent employee, you will be eligible for their benefits at the start of the month.


  • Process payroll for up to 500 employees
  • Administer benefits, change plans, enroll new hires
  • Audit time card information and make changes as needed
  • Data entry of manual adjustments
  • Reconciliations of benefits and time card information
  • Assisting with other various projects in the payroll department
  • Desired Skill Set:

  • At least five years of payroll experience
  • Experience on different payroll systems would be helpful
  • Knowledge of union and multi-state experience is preferred
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal employees
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing, growing environment
