Payroll Specialist 

An Accounting Principals client is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team on-site in Garfield Heights, Ohio. This organization is an established construction business committed to delivering excellent service to its clients. This direct hire job has a starting salary of $50-60k/year depending on experience. In order to qualify you must have prior construction industry experience as well as experience processing Union payroll. Please apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll weekly and bi-weekly for multi-state, union and non-union
  • Reconcile and validate payroll prior to transmission
  • Assist with 401k administration and audits and HSA administration
  • Process garnishments
  • Audit and process employee pay transactions for new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, time data, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, and special pays.
  • Research and resolve basic transaction or account discrepancies
  • Qualifications:

  • At least 1+ year of prior construction industry experience
  • Minimum of three years’ experience running payroll required
  • Union payroll experience required
  • Knowledge of Federal, state, and local employment regulations and best practices
  • Good foundation of payroll taxes, especially local tax reporting
  • High integrity and ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Proficient in Microsoft products
  • Team Player
  • Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000

    Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm (flex time)
