Payroll Specialist

Accounting Principals is looking for a strong Payroll Specialist to jump into a position without hesitation! This role is located in NYC. We need someone with ADP WorkforceNOW. In this capacity, the Payroll Coordinator works closely with the Human Resources department. THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE. 2 DAYS IN OFFICE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes, enters and verifies semi-monthly payroll, including exceptions for salaried staff, recording of time worked for hourly and part-time staff and calculation of overtime for non-exempt staff.
  • Enters tax data, deductions and direct deposit information
  • Verifies and enters all garnishment data, responds to unemployment and disability claims.
  • Verifies annual changes to benefit deductions, including medical, dental and flexible spending plans.
  • Coordinates the preparation and reconciliation of annual W-2s in conjunction with ADP.
  • Collaborates effectively with Human Resources colleagues to ensure timely and accurate administration of payroll changes.
  • Maintains records of employee vacation and sick leave usage and accrual.
  • Coordinate unclaimed funds process
  • Coordinate workers compensation and unemployment audits.
  • Other assignments as required, such as entering non-payroll journals and providing budget support
  • Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll processing.
  • Experience with ADP/Workforce Now is required.
  • Experience with ADP Reporting is highly desirable.
  • Must have knowledge of taxes, deductions, garnishments and related payroll calculations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
