Accounting Principals has partnered with a service-based company to identify a professional for a temp to hire Payroll Professional job in Bergen County, NJ. You must have a minimum of three years of experience processing multi-state payroll and general accounting experience. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, provide feedback to managers on process improvement, and meet deadlines.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing bi-weekly multi-state payroll, running payroll reports, assisting with processing accounts payable, and other various accounting duties.

Remote Payroll Job Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll for over 300 employees
  • Prepare payroll reports for management
  • Allocate payroll tax and benefits to appropriate journal entries
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Process deductions and garnishments when necessary
  • Process any off-cycle checks when necessary
  • Backup the accounting department with accounts payable or other duties as needed


  • Minimum of three years of experience processing payroll
  • Experience with Paychex or ADP payroll software preferred
  • Experience working independently
  • Strong attention to detail
