Seeking an experienced payroll professional to join a fantastic, growing organization on the north side of Indianapolis. As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for assisting in the processing bi-weekly payroll for 220+ employees. In addition, this individual is responsible for all tasks associated with the processing and completion of payroll, all payroll reporting and payment functions.   • Review weekly and bi-weekly electronic time card records for errors.
  • Works with supervisors to resolve time card issues, such as unpaid time, hours outside the norm, or missed clock punches.
  • Enter time by project, by cost code, by classification code into ERP system
  • Process garnishment requests and child support payments
  • Process employee loans and paybacks
  • Process direct deposit payments
  • Reviews payroll preview reports, such as unused deduction report and employees not paid report, to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the payroll being processed.
  • Makes required changes to employee information in the system, as requested, such as change of address and withholdings.
  • Assists in year-end activities, such as processing and reviewing changes in benefits enrollments
  • Assist with federal/state payroll tax deposits and payroll tax returns


  • 2+ years of Payroll experience
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance required, Accounting Degree preferred; or equivalent work experience demonstrating success in similar roles
  • Union Payroll Experience and understanding of union contracts
  • Proficient of Microsoft Excel and Word
