We are seeking a Payroll Specialist for direct hire role in Chicago. You must have three years of payroll administration experience. You must also have strong Microsoft Excel knowledge. Payroll Specialist:

  • Verify and enter payroll from timesheets
  • Maintain employee payroll files
  • Review timesheet data searching for errors or
  • Calculate employee federal and state income, social security taxes, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
  • Record changes to employees’ pay status, tax deductions and withholdings
  • Review, analyze and verify payroll reports for accuracy
  • Reviews audit reports for accuracy of payroll data
  • Prepare and record manual checks as needed
  • Maintain control of company payroll files with strict confidentiality
  • Special projects as requested by management
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • Three years of payroll administration experience
  • Previous use of Paycom is highly preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to keep maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to identify critical issues
