Accounting Principals is working with one of our clients in the construction industry looking to fill a Payroll Specialist job for the corporate office located in Livermore, CA. You should have at least 5 years of experience as a Payroll professional and have solid experience with union employee’s and certified payroll.  You will be responsible for managing the payroll, recording changes affecting wages and deductions, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, union dues, and garnishments. This role will prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll, research and resolve discrepancies in the payroll general ledger accounts, maintain and reconcile sick, vacation, floating holiday accruals,  and assist with any projects as assigned.


Qualifications for the job include:

- Comfortable for managing the entire payroll process for the company (250 employee’s)

- Strong communications, excellent customer service skills, and confidential

- Experience with certified payroll and union employee’s is required

- Construction industry experience would be a big plus

- Strong with payroll rules and regulations for union and non-union employee’s

- Strong reconciliations skills

- Team player, problem solver, and able to multi-tasker

- Reliable, thorough, and dedicated 

- Meets deadlines, attention to detail, and organized

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)


Experience: 5 years of Payroll experience

Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000

Employment Type: Direct Hire
