Payroll Specialist

 

We are currently seeking an experienced payroll specialist who has experience handling high volume multi-state payroll from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of recent payroll experience along with a “can do” attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. CPP license or Associate degree in business is preferred but not guaranteed.

 

This is a Contract to Hire (Temp to Perm) opportunity and will pay between $20 and $22/hr. depending on experience.

 

Job Duties:

  • Collecting timesheet data and payroll information.
  • Process and guarantee weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws, calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with garnishments, levies, support orders and federal, state, and local payroll tax withholding/reporting
  • Preparing and processing paychecks and cash deposits.
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll related taxes and corresponding payments
  • Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Preparing and distributing income statements.
  • Review, calculate, update, and maintain employee-related information such as pay changes, retroactive adjustments, tax withholding, corrections to pay, garnishments, levies, reimbursements, fringe benefits, voluntary deductions and other related pay items
  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
  • Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
  • Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.
  •  

    Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience
  • MUST have Multi-state payroll processing
  • Experience in payroll processing and payroll taxes in a high volume, fast paced multi-state environment
  • Associate Degree in business is preferred but not required
  • CPP is preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data
