We are currently seeking an experienced payroll specialist who has experience handling high volume multi-state payroll from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of recent payroll experience along with a “can do” attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. CPP license or Associate degree in business is preferred but not guaranteed.
This is a Contract to Hire (Temp to Perm) opportunity and will pay between $20 and $22/hr. depending on experience.
Collecting timesheet data and payroll information.
Process and guarantee weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws, calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
Ensure compliance with garnishments, levies, support orders and federal, state, and local payroll tax withholding/reporting
Preparing and processing paychecks and cash deposits.
Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll related taxes and corresponding payments
Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
Preparing and distributing income statements.
Review, calculate, update, and maintain employee-related information such as pay changes, retroactive adjustments, tax withholding, corrections to pay, garnishments, levies, reimbursements, fringe benefits, voluntary deductions and other related pay items
Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.
Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience
MUST have Multi-state payroll processing
Experience in payroll processing and payroll taxes in a high volume, fast paced multi-state environment
Associate Degree in business is preferred but not required
CPP is preferred but not required
Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data
