Accounting Principals is conducting a search for a Payroll Manager located in Davidson County. We are looking for a a Senior or Lead Payroll Administrator who is eager to take the next step in their career leading into a management role. This would be an opportunity to be a part of the leadership team with a well respected national organization within the service industry.

  • Function as Subject Matter Expert with regard to all aspects of HRIS and payroll system functionally, as well as policies and procedures
  • Manage and lead the daily operations of payroll administration for 15 states payroll,
translating worked hours into paid hours following federal, state, local, and union guidelines and process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees in an accuracy and timely manner
  • Research and correct any payroll discrepancy within 24 hours of notification and process manual checks
  • Ensure all garnishment orders are processed and that the affected employees are informed and payments are sent in compliance with instructions in the orders.
  • Respond to employment verification and other requests within 24 hours of receipt filled in as completely and accurately as possible
  • Create annually payroll calendar, follow up, and communicate with employees and
  • managers on missing punches and unapproved timesheets to ensure deadlines are met for payroll process
  • Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies
  • Responsible for payroll tax preparation and filings
  • Book payroll journal entries and month end reconciliations  
  • Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports
  • Lead the administration of retirement plans, by applying expertise, and in compliance
  • with plan design, government regulations and legal requirements by working with vendor and outside counsel as assigned
  • Lead the delivery of employee benefits plans to employees, resolve issues and addresses employees questions; manage benefits plans through third parties providers
  • Review and reconcile all benefits billing invoices such as medical, dental, vision, LTD,
life insurance to submit to accounting department for payment
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum of  5 years experience administering corporate payrolls (Multi State)
  • Prepping and filing payroll taxes for multiple FEIN's
  • Payroll Reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and procedures
  • Payroll System experience in one of the following: ADP Workforce Now, Ultimate, Peoplesoft HCMS, Ceredian Tax
  • Any prior experience working in a payroll conversion is a plus!
  • Payroll Testing and Reporting
