We have a Chicago based client in search of an experienced Payroll Administrator. The ideal candidate will have four years of payroll processing experience and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel. This position will be responsible for key payroll functions including payroll processing, payroll tax management, payroll reporting.


  • Manages and processes bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments,
  • Compute wages and deductions, and enter data into District computer system
  • Coordinate and complete payroll tax activities with our outsourcing vendor ensuring payments are made timely and completing year-end activities
  • Processes fiscal year-end reports and reconciles W-2 information for accuracy
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Prorate expenses to be debited or credited to each department for cost accounting records
  • Maintain current allocation in Kronos and ensure timely implementation of changes as assessed through supervisory review of documentation
  • Participate in the development, maintenance and innovation of payroll-related processes and
  • Prepare and send monthly answers to wage withholding orders as required by state law
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • Three years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience with Kronos is required
  • Healthcare industry experience is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, including ad hoc reporting
  • Highly organized and a team player
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a cross functional team
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
