Payroll Manager

Our client is currently pursuing a seasoned Payroll Manager with 7+ years of solid payroll processing and payroll accounting experience for their role in their west Houston, TX office. This is a key opportunity to work with a purpose-driven and passionate Payroll accounting team to retire from. This role encompasses many payroll processing responsibilities.


Our ideal candidate has the capability to process: bi-weekly, nonexempt, and exempt payrolls. They will ultimately be responsible for account reconciliation of payroll.   • Manage bi-weekly, nonexempt, and exempt payroll process for 400 employees; including working with a team entering and reconciling timesheets
  • General Ledger accounting that pertains to payroll, month-end close activity, prepaid insurance and prepaid expense amortization, intercompany reconciliation, accruals, reversals, reclass, miscellaneous, and routine entries.
  • Oversees the forecasting and analysis for payroll and benefits
  • Supporting senior accountants, financial analysts, and finance department management with journal entry posting activity (data entry in ERP).
  • Lots of analyzation of budget/GL how benefits work--focusing on GL that pertains to payroll
  • Recording inter-company rebill entries for expenses paid on behalf of other company codes.
  • Responsible for reviewing SG&A cost centers weekly for variance analysis. ? Tasked with uploading monthly/quarterly trial balance and operating expenses for consolidation.
  • Committed to work within a team environment to accomplish department goals, strong team player
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, required
  • 7+ years 
  • Discretion working with sensitive information
  • Chemical industry experience, preferred
  • SAP software experience, required
  • Ultipro(UKG) Software, a MAJOR PLUS
  • Paycore software experience, a plus

    Work Hours: M- F, blended| 3 days in office, 2 days remote; 

    Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000/yr. , dependent on experience
