Accounting Principals is looking to fill a Payroll Accountant – Accounts Payable job opportunity for this Marin County organization located in San Anselmo, CA. This position is 100% in-office! The right candidate should have at least 3 years of Payroll experience and have some experience processing Accounts Payable. The candidate will report to the Director of Finance as well as work closely with the HR Director.   

 

Responsibilities include:

- Responsible for processing a semi-monthly payroll of 100 employee’s

- Experience handling the payroll taxes and general ledger activities related to payroll

- Manage the administration of payroll and benefits (403B, flex spending, vacation, sick leave, workers compensation, FMLA employee assistance)

- Manage open enrollment and reconcile benefit invoices against payroll data

- Responsible for processing Accounts Payable and handling the weekly check run

- Prepare and submit monthly budget reports to management team

- Assist the Accounting and HR departments on projects as assigned

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field would be preferred

- Strong payroll foundation understanding federal and state payroll rules and regulations

- Comfortable processing Accounts Payable. AP experience is not required

- Solid knowledge of accounting and knowing your general accounting debits and credits

- Software experience with Paycom would be a plus, but is not required

- A team player, a problem-solver, and strong time management skills

- Attention to detail, adaptable, flexible, and multi-task oriented

- Strong communications (written & verbal) and customer service skills

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel - Intermediate, Word & Outlook)

 

Experience: 3 years of Payroll experience (Payroll Accountant, Payroll Specialist, Payroll Manager)

Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000

Employment Type: Direct Hire
