Accounting Principals is working with one of our long-time clients in the construction industry looking to fill a Payroll Accountant job for the corporate office located in Oakland, CA. You should have at least 3 years of payroll with experience dealing with union employees. You will be responsible for a weekly payroll of 100 to 200 employee’s, reconciling GL accounts, calculating state and payroll taxes twice a week, manage and maintain profit sharing, including loans, and 401K plans. The role will also prepare various reports for division managers, job site managers, and union shops. The reports include, weekly labor reports, garnishments, and submittals for payments to appropriate agencies, quarterly and year-end reports for state and federal taxes, and assist with any projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications for the job include:

- Associates Degree or 5 years construction payroll experience

- In-house payroll software experience (SAGE or Timberline)

- Union payroll experience required

- Solid overall accounting knowledge understanding debits and credits, and good with reconciliations

- Comfortable working in-office (100%)

- Able to work independently as well as a team member

- Reliable, thorough, and dedicated

- Attention to detail, confidential, and organized

- Solid communications skills (written & verbal)

- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)

 

Experience: 3 years union payroll experience

Compensation: $65,000 – $70,000
