We have partnered with a Dallas TX company to find a Lead Accountant for an in office position. The role will pay up to $75k based on experience.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead operational accounting team in the reconciliation of store end of day reports, bank activity, carrier reports and the G/L.
  • Reconciles bank activity, store end of day reports, carrier reports and the G/L.
  • Obtains information from internal and external sources to reconcile accounting transactions in the operational accounting system, bank account and general ledger.
  • Ensures transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, approved and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.
  • Assure adherence to applicable carrier contract terms.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of transactions in the systems and general ledger accounts.
  • Provide weekly and monthly variance analysis on end of day report status for management reporting purposes.
  • Answers and resolves internal and external customer inquiries, including audit inquiries from external auditors, Internal Auditing, and producer auditors.
  • Maintains desk procedures to document the mechanics of booking the assets.
  • Coordinate with store locations / operational staff / carriers for outstanding issues.
  • The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred.
  • Three to five years of work experience as a degreed professional preferred.
  • One to three years of retail industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft GP or a similar accounting system preferred.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
