Accounting Principals is recruiting for several Mortgage Processors to work for a great financial firm on Long Island, NY.

This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Mortgage Processing                                  

                                                                                                   ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Processes mortgage applications and supporting documents after origination until the time of closing to facilitate the successful completion of mortgage loans in an accurate and timely fashion by reviewing the entire loan package of documents to ensure that it is complete, noting any conditions outlined in the desktop underwriting computer program and ensuring that these are satisfied, maintaining close contact with members to obtain information, documents, and permission to transfer funds as needed, submitting loan files to the underwriter for approval, ensuring that all FNMA loan guidelines are satisfied, and ensuring that all necessary fees are collected and recorded.
  • Updates mortgage loan applications by recording changes to loan amounts and other terms of the loan in the computer system and recalculating closing fees and loan payments.
  • Ensures that members have adequate funds to cover various processing fees, e.g. rate lock-in by monitoring their accounts.
  • Responds to questions and complaints received from members through branches or the Call Center on loans in process by researching information and providing responses as required.  
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A high school education or GED.
  • 1 year mortgage lending experience.
