Accounting Principals is searching for a Medical Billing Coordinator, contract-to-hire, for a client located on the Southside of Richmond.  This position is working in the office and MUST be vaccinated. 

Contract Pay: $17 to $20 an hour

Permanent Salary Range: $38K to $45K, plus benefits

Job Description: Process billing  and assist with activities and reporting related to billing matters.

Responsibilities:

  • prepares and transmits electronic billing for Medicare, HMO and commercial patients
  • posts Medicare, HMO, private and commercial payments
  • prepares and submits information that complies with regulatory requirements.
  • download reports  on a quarterly basis.
  • prepares and mails billing forms and supporting documentation for commercial, private and Medicare Advantage payer groups.
  • maintains and prepares quarterly Veterans Administration (VA) reporting, including client surveys and compilation of results
  • follows up on unpaid claims in a timely manner, reports problem accounts to supervisor.
  • Education and Experience:

  • holds a high school diploma; recommended post-secondary education with coursework in business and/or information systems preferred
  • one year of office experience in an administrative position
  • two years of medical billing experience
  • high preference with experience in at home health/hospice agency
  • able to manage multiple tasks
  • has excellent organizational and human relations skills
  • is able to work under time pressure
  • is able to work with details
  • is able to use computer for word processing, spreadsheets and data entry applications
