Loan Specialist – San Francisco, CA

Accounting principal is seeking for a Loan Specialist for one of our clients in San Francisco, CA. This position is to be performed on site. Our ideal candidate has previous experience working in the lending industry, has excellent attention to detail, feel comfortable working with various levels of staff/management and possess the ability to make adjustments to workflows and prioritize workload.

The Loan Specialist is responsible for the file preparation, scanning and quality assurance of imaged documents from receipt in the Imaging Center into OnBase.


  • Prepare Loan files and scan them into imaging software
  • Perform quality control of loan files scanned and ensure all documents are correctly indexed to the proper Document type and keywords
  • Recognize issues that demand escalations, determine the appropriate Bank contact, and act as a liaison between the client and relevant group in order to successfully resolve issues
  • Maintain current knowledge of lending products, services, systems, and processes in order to provide expert and up-to-date client service
  • Perform duties and responsibilities specific to department functions and activities or as assigned for supervisor
  • Qualification:

  • High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in banking/lending industry
  • Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via phone and in person
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial loan systems (TotalPlus, ML and/or IL) and operations, a plus
  • Experience in loan operations or related lending, preferred
  • Proactive individual able to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other bank partners is critical
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationship with staff at various level
  • Skills:

  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Quick learner and ability to manage multiple priorities
