We are seeking a Legal Billing Manager for a top law firm in Chicago! The ideal candidate will have five years of legal billing experience and two years of experience leading a legal billing team. As the Legal Billing Manager, you will lead the client billing process by coordinating the training of new employees, maintaining the billing schedule and prioritizing workflow of the department, and administering preparation of client invoices according to engagement billing schedules.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily processes of the legal billing team including submitting invoices
reconciling daily submissions, and reviewing paperwork for accurateness
Oversee month-end financial statement closing procedures pertaining to billing and applying cash including journal entry preparation, data entry, reconciling and reporting
Create new client records and open new matters
Build a cohesive and supportive high-performance team environment; including setting group goals and objectives
Monitor and re-direct work flow when necessary
Ensure accurate and timely claims submissions resulting in an efficient billing and collection cycle, reducing the average days to collect accounts receivable
Assist both internal and external auditors
Ensuring that invoice tracking is updated on a perpetual basis
Ensure billing goals are being met
Stays current on reimbursement and billing procedures and specific contractual limitations
Ensure documentation is consistently and continuously updated
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred
Five years of billing experience required
Two or more years of Legal Billing Management
Experience with a Large ERP highly preferred
Not-for-profit experience is preferred but not required
Ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet strict deadlines
Medicaid experience is preferred by not required
Must have the ability to work full time.
