We are seeking an individual for a Legal Accounts Payable Specialist position in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of accounts payable experience in a Law firm setting. As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for a heavy volume of invoices and expense reimbursement requests received from vendors and employees.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely processing of AP and mailing checks to vendors
  • Review invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Organize high volume of requests by company and distribute for approval
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries including vendor statement reconciliation and procurement issues
  • Assign appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Maintain vendor files and other relevant documentation
  • Match remittances and lien waivers to checks, obtain all signatures for checks
  • Assist with AP month end closing and audit requests
  • Perform timely and complete review of accounts payable data
  • Perform other duties as required to support Accounting Department
  • Requirements:

  • Four years of Accounts payable experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Law firm experience is highly preferred
  • Previous use of Elite or Rippe software is highly preferred
  • Excellent data-entry skills (speed and accuracy)
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills required
  • Availability to work extra hours when required
