Accounting Principals is supporting a fantastic non-profit organization in Manhattan who is seeking a Junior Grant Accountant to join their team. This position will be on a six month contract basis with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate has experience working within the non-profit space with city/state grants.
Review contracts and ensure compliance prior to generating billing invoices to funding source (city, state and federal)
Post month end journal entries and reconcile bank statements
Allocate expenditures while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local grant contracts
Prepare all disbursements in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with funding source regulations
Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance preferred
1+ years of grant accounting experience, ideally with state and city funding sources
Excellent MS Excel skills, including pivot table and vlookups
Strong verbal and written communication skills
