Accounting Principals is currently seeking a Inventory Control Specialist  candidate with 5 years of experience for a position in a office located in Edison, NJ. This is a great contract role that offers opportunities to work with a results driven and dedicated team.



  • Reconcile Month to month inventory movements
  • Ties out stock status to General Ledger Inventory account.
  • Confirm inventory purchases from Factory.
  • Provide Inventory purchases In-transit to Senior accountant
  • Reconcile the Inventory intercompany accounts to agree to France
  • Enter approved Inventory adjustments in VAI
  • Investigate and explain all inventory variances
  • Assist merchandise planner with communicating discontinued merchandise strategy with retail stores.
  • Manage item price changes in VAI
  • Organize, execute and evaluate physical inventory counts for all stores
  • Assist Merchandise planner with Sales Plan + Inventory plan for Warehouse sale.
  • Working knowledge of VAI
  • Ensures data integrity VAI

    COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics)

  • Advanced knowledge of Retail Systems
  • Knowledge of computer systems and database management
  • Knowledge / skills in VAI, Access, Excel
  • Consistency and attention to details
  • Critical thinking (analytical, logical, alternative solutions)
  • Ability to trouble shoot and provide assistance to resolve problems
  • Communication skills, especially listening and providing written and oral instructions
  • Knowledge of the retail business


  • Experience with Retail Systems (VAI preference)
  • Strong Computer skills (Excel)
  • Strong Communication skills: oral
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Business, logistics,supply chain management or similar
