We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner on behalf of a client located in Sacramento, CA. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), West Coast, is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with business unit and human resources management in supporting the needs of the business and human resources function. Based in Sacramento, the HRBP also supports branches in Southern California and Washington. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas for the designated business unit: full life-cycle recruitment, policy enforcement, employment law compliance, liaison to benefits administration, employee relations, training, and performance management. The HRBP will support the on-going human resources initiatives to meet the growing needs of the business and will play a key role in creating a work environment where everyone can thrive.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for full life-cycle recruitment for exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees – including job postings, screen and interview candidates, offer letters and documentation, onboarding
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for designated business unit personnel
  • Responds timely to employee and supervisor employment related questions, concerns and needs
  • Partners with business unit to develop and implement programs and procedures that promote positive employee relations
  • Enforces personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintain employee records including personnel records, payroll system, benefits
  • Serves as a coach to employees and supervisors regarding employment matters
  • Serves as a liaison to the benefits administration department including communicating benefit information to employees. Responsible for annual open enrollment, employee education, audit and approval of benefit bills
  • Supports programs that promote recognition, development, and retention of key talent
  • Employee engagement – plan and coordinate employee events and achievement celebrations
  • Travel 20%-25% (based on business needs)
  • Safety Committee Member – manage and/or participate in various safety programs
  • Supports supervisors and employees with professional development planning and internal career-pathing opportunities
  • Performs employee relations investigations, documentation, and provides resolution recommendations
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvement
  • Delivers employee and supervisor training – via webinar and classroom
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning employment
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
     
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required
  • Four years of relative experience required, preferably in manufacturing
  • SHRM-CP or PHR strongly preferred
  • Possess motivated and outgoing personality, with ability to read and interact with various personalities and organization leaders
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines such as full life-cycle recruitment, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and training required
  • Strong knowledge of employment law – including those laws and policies specific to California and Washington
  • Experience with safety process and programs in manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
