Accounting Principals is supporting a rapidly growing non-profit organization in Manhattan who is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join their team. The ideal candidate has experience working within the non-profit space and is comfortable potentially commuting into an office a few days per week.
Review contracts and ensure compliance prior to generating billing invoices to funding source (city, state and federal)
Tracking expenses to ensure compliance and prevent overspending
Prepare all disbursements in a timely manner ensuring compliance with funding source regulations
Post month end journal entries and reconcile bank statements
Allocating expenditures while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local grant contracts
Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance preferred
2+ years of grant accounting experience, ideally with state and city funding sources
Excellent MS Excel skills, including pivot table and v-lookups
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with a large ERP system is a plus
