Accounting Principals is seeking a Grant Accountant in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have two to five years of grant or general accounting experience. You will be responsible for reviewing the fund budgets and award documentation, preparing journal entries and recording fund revenue and accurate submission of financial reports. Duties:
Preparing journal entries for posting to general ledger and record fund revenue
Review grants receivables for accuracy and perform monthly reconciliations
Monitoring and tracking the status of each grant
Monitor, analyze and approve restricted expenditures, revenues, grants receivables, cost share, matching, and effort reporting
Prepare quarterly summary schedule of temporarily restricted accounts
Preparing grant budget-to-actual reports
Allocation of cash, fed. And non-fed, to the respective account receivables
Assisting with fund audits and annual A-133 government contract audit
Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts
Assist in the development of annual budget
Preparing all applicable fiscal reports for sponsored programs
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Required
CPA license or CPA candidate is preferred
Two to five years of grant or general accounting experience
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Thorough knowledge of technical accounting principles
High degree of attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills
