Accounting Principals is currently looking for a Fund Accountant to join our client in Philadelphia, PA. Our client is a leading global provider of investment processing, fund processing, and investment management business outsourcing solutions that help corporations, financial institutions, financial advisors, and ultra-high-net-worth families create and manage wealth.

As the fund accountant and administrator for funds, maintains the accounting books and records of its fund clients, acts as intermediary between the funds and their investment advisors, and prepares financial statements and regulatory reports for the funds. The Fund Accountant will operate in a team environment and rely heavily on the use of the micro-computer and various software packages.




• Communicating with the funds’ investment advisors and entering security trades
• Calculating the funds’ daily investable cash, expenses and income
• Processing shareholders’ activity and reconciling to the funds’ transfer agent
• Maintaining daily accounting records
• Computing income distributions and reportable yields
• Calculating and reporting the funds’ daily net asset values (NAV’s)
• Analyzing daily changes in funds’ values in relation to broader market fluctuations
• Participating in group and departmental projects




• BS/BA degree in business, finance or related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience
• Knowledge of the mutual fund industry
• Strong aptitude for numbers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Detail orientation
• Ability to recognize potential problems and escalate them to a supervisor
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and facility with Excel for Windows


Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
