Accounting Principals is recruiting for a Credit and Collections Representative to work for an excellent, innovative, stable luxury brand company in the Port Washington, NY area.

*This role is hybrid (alternating weeks) after training. There is 1-3 months of training.

Description:

The Credit & Collections Representative is responsible for setting up new accounts in their assigned region, establishing and re-evaluating customer credit limits, daily collection activities of accounts receivables including reconciling accounts, charge backs and interacting with customers.  

The qualified candidate will:

- Handle all functions related to Credit & Collections including setting up new accounts in assigned region

- Release orders pursuant to a review and on outstanding account issues

- Resolve lock box exceptions

- Review and evaluate credit limits for existing customers and provide recommendations 

- Managing collections through the customer, sales representative and or vendors. This includes maintaining current accurate customer records on the SAP Operating System by documenting account activity, promptly and accurately reviewing payments received, applying deposits and credits to outstanding balances. 

- Escalate any overdue Account Receivables for additional collection efforts

-  Reconcile customer accounts with attention to discounts, deductions and short payments.

- Work with the Customer, Account Managers and Sales Representative to resolve discrepancies.  

This role requires you to:

-  Work closely with appropriate Sales Rep to facilitate collection action.

 - Analyze held orders and determine if orders are to be released. Release orders and approve shipments based on a careful review of past due or credit issues and differentiating between credit and sales worthy accounts. 

Requirements:

- College Degree or related experience a must

- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills - Effective analytical capabilities , Attention to detail

- PC literate with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint. 

- Must be able to think outside the box

- Proficiency in SAP is a PLUS.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while paying attention to detail with high level of accuracy
