Accounting Principals is partnering with a local financial institution to identify an individual for a contract role within their collections department to support for 6 months and possibly longer in their San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate comes with 2 years minimum experience in collections for a financial institution, a working knowledge of bankruptcy, repossession, and legal procedures, and working knowledge of online collections systems. This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable financial institution in the San Diego, CA area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the firm’s accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts
  • Contact customers with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments
  • Use credit bureau data, post office information, internet searches and other tools to try to locate customers who have moved or changed phone numbers
  • Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from the customer
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints concerning billing
  • Submit regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress
  • Qualifications:

  •  High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred minimum two years collections experience in a financial institution collecting on secured and unsecured accounts preferred
  • Working knowledge of bankruptcy, repossession, and legal procedures
  • Experience with online collection system preferred
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong capability to work effectively under pressure
  • Proficient PC skills to include Word & Excel
  • Schedule/Job Site:

    Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm, 100% Onsite

    Pay:

    $19-22/hr
