Our client is a well established manufacturer in The Colony, TX that is looking for someone to join their Credit team.  You will need to be very detail-oriented, comfortable with fast-paced data entry and a team player.  Take a look at the job duties and apply at accountingprincipals.com if interested:
 
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Contact trade and bank references, pull credit reports, and maintain credit application database
• Set up new customer files
• Complete new account maintenance forms (sold to, ship to, and CBD accounts)
• Prepare maintenance changes to accounts
• Send welcome letters to customers, plus any other correspondence as directed by manager
• Log, batch, and key all payments made via credit card, EFT, and direct check, etc.
• Key adjustments
• Process customers’ monthly statements
• Sort and distribute Credit Department mail and FedEx
• Process refund requests
• Prepare and send out Lien Notices
• Handle customer phone queries, as needed
• Place collection calls in support of Credit Manager
• Release “cash” orders, after confirming payment. Obtain Buying Group releases, if needed.
• Key tax, and other, credit requests, as needed
• Reconcile miscellaneous cash and CBD accounts
• Customer account reconciliation, as needed, or directed by manager
• Create daily, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports (i.e. DSO, Aged Trial Balance, Collections, Booked Credit Memos, etc. – most of which are compiled utilizing COGNOS and MS Access)
• Cross-train within department to support team when members are absent or workload dictates
• Filing
• Credit Assistant will provide assistance to Credit Manager(s) and Director of Credit, in all credit functions, as needed
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Intermediate computer skills in MS Office Software (primarily MS Excel and MS Access)
• Strong organizational, mathematical, and communication skills
• Ten-key by touch
• Strong attention to details required
• Ability to type an average of 35 WPM
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in the construction field helpful but not required
• Basic accounting principles and practices helpful but not required
