Accounting Principals is assisting our Saddle River, NJ client in their search for a Cost Accounting Manager.  This will be a consulting assignment and report onsite 2-3 days per week and work from home the remaining days.

Job Description:

  • Performing month-end cost accounting close
  • Collecting data to determine production costs such as raw material, labor and overhead
  • Analyzing changes in products, components, and manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost and prepare periodic PPV reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Preparing monthly inventory and COGS analysis
  • Providing reports comparing factors effecting prices and profitability of products and services
  • Establishing cost standards, labor and overhead rates and suggesting changes to improve
  • Preparing analytical comparisons and analysis of current period results against benchmarks including budget and prior year
  • Supporting and processing physical inventories, analyzing inventory valuations, reconciling finished goods, inventories and monitoring cycle-count program
  • As hoc analysis and other duties as required
  • Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA a plus
  • 6+ years of experience in both standard cost and job shop manufacturing
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  •
