Accounting Principals is looking for a Cost Accountant in Dallas, Texas.

The Cost Accountant is responsible for the successful completion of the payroll process which will include monitoring the fluid balancing and data entry processes. In this role, the Cost Accountant will report to the Senior Accounting Manager. The Cost Accountant will work with other accounting personnel in general ledger account review and will serve as an expert for the accounting, reporting, distribution, and billing.

  • Participate in financial ledger support to insure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide advice and timely, accurate analysis of operational reports and accounting issues.
  • Data management associated with component weights, resolution, or modifications within our operating systems.
  • Perform due diligence processes to ensure that data entry and processing functions were accurately performed.
  • Validate the payments have been processed according to the Federal Order regulations. Includes but not limited to checking formulas, pricing, labs, and component weights.
  • Identify Producer Payroll issues or areas for improvement and conduct the necessary research to recommend solutions.
  • Support management in resolving client disputes and issues relating specifically to the Producer Payroll service function.
  • Provide recommendations and support for a system of internal controls.
  • Participate in the preparation of various operational and financial reports.
  • Review all operational processes and procedures to develop more effective, efficient, and accurate methods of managing accounting functions.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business
  • Experience: 3 years’ cost accounting

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Manages confidential information appropriately.
  • Observes deadlines and conscientious regarding the quality of work.
  • Strong people skills. Understanding, yet persuasive and decisive with others.

  • Adheres to the ethical standards as established by management.
  • Effective at multi-tasking.

  • Business ERP software of knowledge preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
