Job Description

Accounting Principals is in search of a Controller who can travel to Miami or located in the area to join the accounting department of a best in class organization. In this role, the Controller will be a key player in keeping financial records organized. Our client is looking for a Controller who is a self-starter that can strive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.   • Directs accounting functions and activities of an organization
  • Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company
  • Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position
  • Prepares annual budgets and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification
  •  Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
  •  Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
  • Prepare formal quarterly financial statements and flex file to be submitted to parent company timely. Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
  • Prepare proper accounting for IFRS16 assets
  • Ensures all SOX requirements are met and documented
  • Ensure all AR and AP functions and reports are prepared and UpToDate and presented to the General Manager for biweekly discussions
  • Prepare, consolidate and publish timely financial statements for forecasting and reporting under GAAP standards


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Professional certification preferred: CPA 
  • Minimum five years' related experience required
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP experience highly desired
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective communicator/problem solver
  • Great multi-tasker 
  • Very deadline and detail-oriented

    Salary: $130,000

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/scanners, and filing cabinets.

    Physical Demands

    This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.


    No travel is expected for this position.
