Accounting Principals is actively sourcing for a Credit/Collection Specialist for a wholesale distributor. This position will pay up to $20/hr 

 

  • Analyzes past due accounts and initiates collection efforts verbally or in writing keeping accounts under the seventy-day mark
  • Communicate with management the need for liens or legal action to collect timely
  • Properly document conversations and promises in computer
  • Sets up and maintains Accounts Receivable files
  • Responds to questions and makes calls regarding overdue bills and billing problems
  • Reconciles and adjusts accounts as appropriate and as necessary
  • Prepares regular, periodic, and special AR reports for Management
  • Coordinate activity with Sales department regarding disputes on outstanding invoices
  • Regularly communicates with sales personnel to facilitate collections
  • Prepare for and attend regular credit meetings
  • Occasionally back-up for Receptionist
  • Provide coverage for other analyst when they are out of the office
  • And other duties as assigned
  • Job Requirement

  • At least 3 years A/R experience, including telephone collections, payment and crediting processing application and/or understanding of same.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in monitoring aging reports
  • Requires ability to multi-task and solve problems
  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively with customers
  • Positive work attitude and enjoy working in a high pace environment
  • Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs, and email at a proficient level.
  • Knowledge of construction industry credit requirements helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of California Preliminary Law, releases, etc. helpful but not required
  • Work the normal schedule you are assigned as this is a full-time position
  • Perform the duties and job requirements as listed above in an ethical and professional manner; demonstrating key and moral principles, and perform other duties as assigned
