Local ESSENTIAL BUSINESS in Whittier searching for a dedicated and professional Collections Specialist to join the team!

The candidate will process the tracking of invoices, resolve account issues for our customers, follow up on past due accounts, and call customers to resolve issues and collect.


· Post daily deposits

· Process incoming mail concerning billing and invoicing

· Communicate with clients about billing discrepancies and questions

· Initiate collections on past-due accounts

· Maintain accounting ledgers as required

· Follow-up with past due accounts to lower overall Accounts Receivable balances

· Audit ledgers to ensure they contain correct information, such as billing addresses and invoice numbers


Required Skills:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

· 2+ years’ experience in AR can substitute for educational requirement

· Experience with customer service and client communication

· Excellent follow-through of client requests and communication to ensure collections

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

· Intermediate to advanced 10-key skills

· Ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets

· Familiarity with accounting software programs
