Accounting Principals has partnered with a large healthcare company in Plano TX to find multiple Collections Specialists for a long term contract assignment through the summer. This is a great way to earn some cash and potentially get your foot in the door with a major player in the healthcare industry! Pay will go up to $18hr (for bilingual candidates, less for non-bilingual). The Collections Specialist ensures the timely receipt of claim payments and minimizes bad debt accrual. In this capacity, Collections provides outstanding customer service to customers and vendors through effective and timely communication.
 
What You Will Be Doing:
Under general supervision, identify and resolve routine outstanding claims.
Generate and analyze diverse reports and work lists in the identification and resolution of general patient account issues.
Assist in the resolution of outstanding payments from past due accounts.
Ensure timely receipt of claim payments; processing payments accordingly and reconciling all necessary data.
Perform all responsibilities in compliance with company policies and procedures; ensuring timely and complete documentation of activities performed.
May serve as a point of contact for customers and/or external vendors in response to inquiries and unresolved issues.
May mentor other staff as applicable.
Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
 
What Makes An Ideal Candidate:
Ability to assess customer's financial situation for possible referral for loss mitigation.
Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related software.
 
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. 2-4 years of related experience required.
