Accounting Principals is looking for a Client Reporting Accountant located in the Greater Milwaukee area to support our client’s Accountants during their SWP conversion. This a great full-time, contract opportunity for someone with financial accounting experience and is familiar with various general accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. Currently, this position is 100% remote with a Return to Office in a Hybrid role later in the year.


In this role, you will perform daily accounting activities in accordance with GAAP, such as maintaining general ledger, preparing accounting statements and financial reports.  You will also serve as the main point of contact for business line administration and promptly research client inquiries and issues.


  • Support Employee Benefit Reporting (EBR) accounts which hold client-controlled assets and conduct secondary reviews of those accounts.
  • Complete accrual reviews and facilitate asset set-up corrections related to assigned accounts.
  • Generate and analyze various reports, as well as meet strict deadlines to research and resolve exceptions.
  • Perform unitized accounting valuations, including researching unusual activities in accounts, confirming treatment of activity for valuation within established deadlines, and assist with secondary review process.
  • Respond promptly to clients and business partners regarding statements and unitized accounting inquiries.
  • Partner with management to develop and execute improved processes and procedures that transform the business and drive customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Assist team with various projects and process improvement initiatives, collaborating with team members and business line partners to achieve a common goal.
  • Aid team with the mentorship and training of department processes.

  • 1-2 years of experience in financial accounting, experience unitized accounting preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis not required but preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proactive problem solving­, identifying and resolving exceptions analyzing data.
  • Assertiveness when asking investigative questions to gather more information.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
  • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, Contract

    WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM CST
