Accounting Principals has a Category Manager Job in Philadelphia. This position is for a global multinational risk management, insurance brokerage and advisory company. In this role you will be responsible for the delivery and update of Category Strategies, carrying out the strategic sourcing of those activities and identifying future commercial opportunities and direction. In addition, the Category Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of Category Strategies and procurement plans for the category area. Strong Microsoft Office and Access database skills required.
Responsibilities for Category Manager:
• Development and delivery of Category Strategies and procurement plans for the category area
• Profiles category area characteristics, researches supply markets, suppliers and assesses trends, opportunities and risks for the entire category area
• Leads/maintains engagement of key stakeholders both internally and externally
• Scopes and develops regional / global contractual agreements that meet the regional/global category / customer
• Management and identification of supply chain and contractual risk
• Ensuring contracts can be effectively delivered
• Supplier relationship management and contract relationship management
• Support and/or lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure business requirements and procurement objectives are met
Requirements for Category Manager:
• Bachelor's degree, must be a business-related degree
• 3+ years minimum of Procurement experience
• Heavy experience on Excel and Microsoft Access database skillset
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience of strategic sourcing and category management
• Oracle systems experience is a plus
• Experience leading the development of complex/high value category specific strategies
• Experience of contract development, including the ability to understand core commercial terms and make recommendations
• Relevant specific category knowledge 3+ years across Facilities, Facilities Management, Office Services, and Real Estate categories
